Hello!
First of all, I’ve got some fabulous news about Murder Most Unladylike. We’re now into the final few months before release – and the book’s getting its first reviews.
Katie from Storytellers, Inc: ‘Robin Stevens’ debut is a glorious romp through the dormitories and daily quirks of life in a 1930s girls’ school.’
didyoueverstoptothink.wordpress.com: ‘It’s a sort of hybrid of Angela Brazil meets Agatha Christie all mixed up with some Sherlockian tips and winks that made me snuggle down and read with a contented smile. It is a jacket potato on a winter’s day book; warm, satisfying, filling.’
I’m so delighted that readers are finally getting their hands on the book. And there’s not long to wait before it’s actually released! Amazingly, this morning I received my first finished copy. I can confirm that it is incredibly beautiful, and also 100% real.
I’m keeping my mind off Release Day by working on the revisions to Wells & Wong Mystery 2, which will be called Arsenic for Tea. Without giving too much away, there will be poison – and Hazel and Daisy will find themselves dealing with yet another murder case.
Now, you may have noticed that this blog’s looking a little different. This is my first post from my brand new e-home – my lovely author website, designed by the fantastic Helen at Helicon Designs, and today I want to show you around!
The main page is also the News page. Any updates to any part of the site will appear here, and there’s also a swanky sliding image panel where you can check out my latest pictures.
Want to know more about me? Try these ten entirely true facts on my About Me page. There’s even a calendar at the bottom of the page which will be updated with author events, once they’re confirmed.
Want to hear about the Wells & Wong mysteries? Try the Books page, where you’ll find both the UK and US editions. (Yes, you read that right – the US translation of Murder Most Unladylike is indeed Murder is Bad Manners). Click on any of the covers and you’ll go through to special pages dedicated to each book. The Murder Most Unladylike page has the book’s cover, official blurb, pre-order buttons, Goodreads bookshelf button and even early reviews – and the other pages will be updated with similar information as soon as it’s available.
And if that’s made you curious about my detectives Hazel Wong and Daisy Wells, you can visit their very own Detective Society section. There’s an interactive Map of Deepdean School, where you can find out more about their world. Just hover your mouse over the map to discover the hidden extras. Then there’s Hazel’s Suspect List – find out a few early facts about the suspicious characters who you’ll meet in Murder Most Unladylike. Don’t worry, there are no spoilers! And finally, Daisy can show you how to have the perfect Midnight Feast – although I’m not sure I advise you to try the chocolate sandwiches.
I’d love you to contact me – my Contact page gives you several different ways to get in touch! The one thing I do want to remind you of (and this is also in my About Me section) is that this is exclusively my author site. This isn’t the place to send your manuscript if you’re an aspiring author – I’m unfortunately too busy to give it the attention it deserves, and I can’t blur the lines between my day job and my writing. Forgive me! I’d love to help you all, but I can’t.
And that’s my site, and those are my updates! Exciting times.
