A Spoonful of Murder – spotted in the wild!

ASOM first sighting Lydia

Detective Society member and all-round good egg Lydia has become the first person to see A Spoonful of Murder in a store!

She very thoughtfully wrote to me to ask me whether it was all right to buy it before its official release date (8th February, when all stores can guarantee they’ll have the book in stock) – and I’m very glad to be able to tell her, and everyone else, that it’s totally fine!

There are some books that are embargoed before their release date. This means that no one is allowed to sell it before that date – if you do, you could get into a lot of trouble. But most books aren’t embargoed, and so shops are allowed to start selling them to customers as soon as they get their copies in. And that’s the case with A Spoonful of Murder!

Most stores will wait until the week of the 8th to put out their copies, and it’s rare to see books before their release date … but some booksellers get excited and put the books out earlier, and so you should all be on the alert every time you go into a store in case there’s a copy or two to be found!

If you do spot a copy early, please let me know – I’d love to see your pictures! And if you’ve got a book on pre-order, don’t worry. It will be sent to you on the 8th February, so you’ll still get it as soon as it comes out, and you’ll be one of the first people to read it.

The wait is very nearly over …
