World Book Day, the biggest celebration of children’s books in the UK and Ireland, is on the 7th of March this year – which is next week! I know a lot of you are excited to dress up as your favourite characters and share stories you love, and if you’re celebrating this year, I hope you and your school have lots of fun plans in place.
If you want tips on how to create your own story this year, remember that you can watch lots of author masterclasses on the WBD website – including mine!
And if you want to dress up as Daisy, Hazel or any of their friends, it’s very easy. I created a handy guide – complete with printable Deepdean crest – last year, and I’ve updated it for this year. You can find it here!
If you do dress up, I’d love to see a photo of your finished outfit. Please do check with an adult before you send me anything – it’s really important to stay safe online and think about what you’re sending and who you’re sending it to – but it’s always so wonderful for me to see your interpretations of my characters! I’ll be posting a selection on this website, so make sure you’re happy to be included in that. Below is one of my favourite pictures from last year – let’s hope that this World Book Day is a bit less snowy!
