The Guggenheim Mystery is out today!

The day has finally arrived – The Guggenheim Mystery is officially out in the UK and Ireland!

This is (how can this be?!) my SEVENTH book, but I promise you the publication day feelings of joy and terror and excitement are just as strong as ever. Walking into bookstores and seeing a book that I wrote there for the very first time still totally overwhelms me. I don’t think that’ll ever change!

I went on a Guggenheim-hunting expedition through London today to celebrate The Guggenheim Mystery‘s publication and visit the place that Siobhan Dowd made so famous in the first book in this series, The London Eye Mystery. This book wouldn’t exist without her, so I wanted to make sure she was part of the celebrations.

Here I am on a very windy day, with the Eye and the Guggenheim!

Then I went to Foyles on the Southbank – and I got the most BRILLIANT surprise. They’ve given The Guggenheim Mystery its own window!

Oh, and that huge image of the Guggenheim Museum? It’s not a poster. It’s an original canvas that bookseller Lloyd painted, just for this display, from David Dean’s artwork.

Then I went to Waterstones Covent Garden, where I met someone who’s been a massive champion of my books all the way from Australia. Mr Todd has been teaching Murder Most Unladylike to his class for two years now, and the kids have done the most amazing projects in response to my books. I’ve even sent them a video to answer some of their questions – so it was brilliant to meet the man behind it all! (And if any of Mr Todd’s class are reading this – hello! I really did meet your teacher!)

And then, of course, there was only one thing to do – take The Guggenheim Mystery for a bunbreak. I know that these cinnamon buns are more Swedish than American – but oh well. It’s my book birthday!
