As you know, I can’t do as many school visits as I’d like to, because I need to keep enough time to write my books. I also usually keep my school visits within the UK and Ireland.
But this autumn term, one lucky school somewhere in the world will win the chance to have me Skype in to chat to students about my books, as part of a fundraising effort my friends and I are doing for the residents of Grenfell Tower.
If you go to school, please tell your teachers about this opportunity, and if you are a teacher or librarian or parent or pupil, please do think about pulling a bid together!
The Grenfell Tower fire was a heartbreaking tragedy, and at the moment residents desperately need not only all of the things that we take for granted – food, clothes, toys, toiletries – but also money to help rebuild their lives. I’m going to be donating personally as well, but I’m lucky that, as an author, I can also offer something that might be able to raise money for the cause.
Bid now! The auction will close on the 27th, and all proceeds will go to the British Red Cross London Fire Relief Fund. Thank you x
