I’ve got some great news for all Detectives waiting for Daisy and Hazel’s sixth adventure … this morning I pressed SEND, and the first draft is now in the inboxes of my editor and agent. It’s on its way to being a real book – you can even pre-order it!
There’s a cover and title reveal coming later in the spring, so keep an eye out for that – I think that this book could be the most exciting yet!
But, of course, the book that I’m talking about most at the moment is Cream Buns and Crime.

Finally, I was at Oxford Lit Fest on Sunday 2nd April, doing two events – one about childhood creativity with Jonathan Stroud, Katherine Rundell and Tony DeSaulles, and one solo, talking about (what else?) Cream Buns and Crime.
They were two absolutely fabulous events – I loved hearing about where other authors got their inspiration, and what they were like as children, and I loved speaking to such engaged and imaginative audiences – and the signing queues were amazing!Thank you to everyone who came to say hi – and special shout-out to The Bookie Cookie, who has made her very own film of Arsenic for Tea IN LEGO. My fans are just the best!
I’m looking forward to doing more Cream Buns and Crime events in the months to come – but before I do, I am going to take a very well-deserved Easter break. Easter is one of my favourite holidays, because there are so many opportunities for a good bunbreak – I think I might even do some cooking from Cream Buns and Crime!
